What defines museum quality art?

What defines museum quality art? How is some art regarded as better art than other art? In his book ‘Playing the gallery’, Grayson Perry reveals the validating factors that define museum quality art and the hurdles artists must overcome in order to be considered great.

Inspired by this question, I designed a simple step-by-step guide to the empirical process of art validation. Iconising a series of popular artworks to create a strong header graphic and illustrating the characters of the key art validators – artist, teacher, critic, collector, dealer, curator, reporter and public.
